Royal Caribbean has announced that the Oasis of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world, will sail in Europe in September and October 2014. Official announcement is expected for today (March 27) in Spain.
The Oasis of the Seas is 225,000 tons in size, 90,000 tons more than any other cruise ship. It carries up to 6.400 passengers and 2.200 crew members. It was constructed at STX France in 2009 and is the first ship in the Oasis-Class, owned by Royal Caribbean.
The ship will depart from Fort Lauderdale on September 1, 2014 and arrive in Barcelona on September 13, after a stop in Malaga on September 11. However, it is not confirmed if there won't be another stop before arriving Barcelona.
On September 13 Oasis of the Seas will start the first cruise from Barcelona. 5 nights, with stops in Naples and Civitavecchia and two days at sea.
On September 23, the ship will depart to Rotterdam, where he will enter the shipyard Keppel Verolme for routine maintenance. The route from Barcelona to Rotterdam is still unknown.
Finally, on October 14, the ship will depart from Rotterdam to Fort Lauderdale, calling at Southampton, where passengers will have the possibility to board, and in Vigo.
Oasis of the Seas will come back to Ft. Lauderdale on October 27.
